About The Position

The HR Operations Manager is a key leadership role within ABBYY’s global Human Resources function, reporting directly to the Director, Engagement. This role leads a global HR Operations team, with primary accountability for U.S. HR operations and responsibility for driving alignment, consistency, and operational excellence across regions. This role serves as the end-to-end owner of HR systems of record, including HiBob (HRIS) and Greenhouse (ATS), and is accountable for delivering scalable, compliant, and high-quality HR operations across the full employee lifecycle globally. While deep expertise in U.S. HR operations is essential, this role also requires the ability to operate in a global environment, partnering with regional stakeholders to standardize processes while accommodating local requirements. This is a hands-on leadership role for a builder-operator, someone who can lead and develop a team while designing and implementing scalable processes, workflows, and automation. A key focus of the role is reducing manual intervention and building efficient, technology-enabled HR operations at scale.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in HR Operations / People Operations
  • Experience leading small, potentially distributed or global teams
  • Deep expertise in U.S. HR operations (essential) with multi-state experience
  • Experience supporting or partnering across global HR environments
  • Proven ability to standardize processes across regions
  • Proven ability to balance global scale with local compliance
  • Strong experience in process design and transformation
  • Strong experience in automation and workflow implementation
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS (HiBob desired) and ATS platforms such as Greenhouse

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a small, globally distributed HR Operations team
  • Drive consistency in service delivery, processes, and standards across regions
  • Balance global standardization with local compliance requirements
  • Establish clear SLAs, priorities, and performance expectations
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex and cross-regional issues
  • Own and operate HR Operations for the U.S. employee population, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
  • Provide leadership and oversight to global HR operations delivery, ensuring alignment and consistency across regions
  • Drive end-to-end excellence across the full employee lifecycle globally, including: Onboarding and hiring support, Job and compensation changes, Leaves of absence, Offboarding
  • Partner with regional stakeholders to ensure global processes are scalable, efficient, and locally compliant
