About The Position

The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) is seeking to hire three consultants for its HR Services Division. This division has provided consulting services, training and development, and resources to educational entities, Texas school leaders, and human resources administrators and staff for 40 years. These are remote positions, but candidates must reside in Texas and be able to travel frequently within Texas. The HR and Compensation Consultant will design and implement compensation plans, provide guidance, develop resources, advise on policies and procedures, and offer ongoing customer support. The HR Consultant will provide daily support, advise on policies and procedures, direct members to resources, manage HR consulting projects, assist in resource and training development, and represent HR Services as a trainer and presenter.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, math, business, or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Five years’ professional experience in human resources, school administration, or related field.
  • Excellent project management, organizational skills, and ability to manage and execute tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced, and priority-changing environment.
  • Expert knowledge and skills using Excel analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize data in meaningful ways.
  • Ability to present information to large groups and public audiences.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and meaningful reports.
  • Ability to travel frequently within Texas.
  • Reside in Texas.

Nice To Haves

  • Public school experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage small- to medium- sized compensation consulting projects along with the support of a data analyst.
  • Advises school executives on HR and compensation issues and problem-solving strategies.
  • Develops and presents training sessions and webinars on compensation and other HR topics.
  • Collaborate with a team of consultants and analysts to improve services provided to school districts, regional service centers, and community colleges.
  • Independently manage assigned HR consulting projects and provide recommendations to be presented in executive briefings and school board presentations.
  • Develop and present training sessions, conference presentations, and webinars on a variety of HR topics.
  • Provide solution-oriented HR support to school districts, regional service centers, and community colleges.
  • Assist with resource planning, writing reference materials, and research of regulatory developments to ensure division publications are accurate and provide timely information to members.
