About the position

The HR Advisor will provide expert guidance and support to assigned client groups on various HR-related matters, ensuring alignment with company goals. This role involves delivering high-quality HR services, managing associate relations, compliance with employment laws, and facilitating training and onboarding processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides expert advice and guidance to managers and associates on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, reviewing policies and practices accordingly.
  • Provides coaching and support in response to manager and associate requests regarding performance, conduct, and dependability concerns.
  • Partners with people leaders and COEs to facilitate Leave of Absence requests and Workers Compensation.
  • Maintains and reports metrics related to exit interviews, stay interviews, associate engagement, headcount, retention, turnover, and accident frequency rating.
  • Uses trend data to create HR interventions to support the health of assigned client groups/locations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, assessments, and investigations.
  • Follows HR Compliance processes and provides feedback for improvement.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and continuing education.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave.
  • Facilitates the benefits annual open enrollment process ensuring all associates are enrolled in benefits by the due date.
  • Supports company culture and initiates culture-based activities.
  • Facilitates new hire orientation and compliance training.
  • Responds to employment-related inquiries from associates, supervisors, and managers.
  • Conducts stay and exit interviews.
  • Submits and manages workers' compensation claims.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 5-8 years of human resource experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Thorough understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Intermediate computer skills in MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • PHR, SHRM-CP or other certification preferred.
