About The Position

As a junior HPC engineer, you'll support the operation of HPC workflows that power large-scale aerospace simulation campaigns. You'll help configure and submit jobs through HPC schedulers, package scientific software into containers, troubleshoot job failures and performance issues, and support the researchers who depend on these environments. You'll work closely with senior HPC and DevSecOps engineers, gaining exposure to scheduler configuration, storage systems, parallel computing, and the integration of HPC with modern CI/CD workflows. Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience working in Linux-based HPC, cluster, or scientific computing environments, including academic, internship, or professional environments
  • Experience with HPC job schedulers such as Slurm, PBS, and LSF, and submitting batch jobs
  • Experience with scripting in Bash or Python
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Singularity, or Apptainer
  • Knowledge of Linux command line operations and Shell scripting
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Computational Science, Engineering, or Physics

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with parallel computing concepts such as MPI and OpenMP, in a professional or academic environment
  • Experience with parallel file systems such as Lustre and GPFS, or high-throughput storage
  • Experience with GPU computing, including CUDA and ROCm, or GPU-accelerated workflows
  • Experience in scientific software environments, including modules, Spack, and EasyBuild
  • Experience with DoD HPC environments such as DREN and DSRC, or other government computing resources
  • Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools such as GitLab
  • Secret clearance
  • Security+ CE Certification
