About the position

The Housing Program Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing programs that align with the Housing Master Plan's Committed Affordable Unit targets and strategies. This role involves managing operations within the Office of Housing, specifically overseeing the Supportive Housing Team, and providing housing guidance and technical expertise to local and regional partners. The incumbent will engage with community members, coordinate stakeholder groups, and represent the Office of Housing in various internal and external forums.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement housing programs that contribute to the Housing Master Plan.
• Manage operations of the Supportive Housing Team, including supervision of staff and consultants.
• Interface with community members and provide housing guidance to local and regional partners.
• Represent the Department at public hearings and on panels, committees, and task forces.
• Draft and present reports and recommendations on housing initiatives.
• Build partnerships with community associations and local government agencies.
• Conduct public outreach and organize meetings for diverse audiences.
• Participate in the Office of Housing's Housing 2040 Master Plan events.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Three years of relevant experience in affordable housing, urban planning, or community development.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of landlord-tenant law and housing resources.

• Experience working with individuals or families experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
• Ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
• Experience in public or business administration.
