About the position
The Houseman/House Person at Holiday Inn Express and Suites Detroit-Utica is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality service by ensuring that guestrooms and public areas are cleaned to standard, anticipating guest needs, and exceeding expectations. This role is crucial in creating a lasting first impression and maintaining the hotel's high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Clean guestrooms to standards in allocated time frame (meeting required MPOR).
- Greet every customer with a smile at 10 feet and a verbal greeting at 5 feet.
- Effectively operate and maintain hotel equipment related to daily tasks, such as vacuums and carpet cleaners.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of hotel staff, services, room locations, and amenities.
- Provide the highest quality of customer service to guests at all times.
- Handle guest lost and found with fast response, notifying the front desk immediately.
- Complete the shift work checklist as assigned.
- Practice safety standards at all times and keep the property safe for guests and fellow employees.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a hospitality setting is preferred.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a busy public atmosphere.
- Must read and understand the Employee Handbook.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in cleaning or hospitality roles for at least 1 year.
