About the position

The Housekeeping Supervisor at Courtyard by Marriott Tampa is responsible for overseeing the back-of-house operations, leading a team of housekeeping staff, and ensuring that guest rooms meet brand standards. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to exceptional customer service, as well as the ability to handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the housekeeping team to ensure efficient operations.
• Greet and welcome guests, addressing questions and complaints in a friendly manner.
• Ensure guest rooms are cleaned and ready according to brand standards.
• Assist with scheduling and room assignments for optimal efficiency.
• Monitor staff performance and recommend disciplinary actions as needed.
• Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas for cleanliness and maintenance.
• Provide training and necessary tools for staff to perform their duties effectively.
• Respond to guest complaints and special requests, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
• Complete paperwork related to room status changes and prepare work assignments for the next day.
• Perform housekeeping duties as needed, including cleaning guest rooms.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality.
• Minimum of 2 years of housekeeping experience.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory or management role, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to convey information clearly.
• Proficient in Windows operating systems and company-approved software for spreadsheets and word processing.
• Ability to comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a hotel or similar hospitality environment.
• Knowledge of safety and security policies in the workplace.
