About the position

The Housekeeping Manager at Vacation Rental Assistance (VRA) is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping operations for vacation rental properties in the South Lake Tahoe area. This role combines administrative duties with hands-on management of the housekeeping team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and service quality. The manager will also engage in training, scheduling, and quality control while supporting the team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the housekeeping department and staff.
• Conduct training and orientation for new staff members.
• Schedule staff and services effectively to meet operational needs.
• Perform quality control assessments and staff performance reviews.
• Engage with staff through field visits to ensure quality and support.
• Assist with cleaning duties during peak times or staff shortages.
• Handle after-hours staff support and schedule adjustments as needed.
• Collaborate with the regional manager and dispatch teams to achieve housekeeping goals.
• Contribute to seasonal staffing and operational strategies.

Requirements

• Proficient housekeeping and supervisory experience.
• Own a 4x4 or all-wheel drive vehicle with state minimum insurance coverage.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic proficiency with phone applications.
• Cleaning experience, preferably in vacation home rentals (VHR).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
