About the position

The Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor at Southern Hills Rehab Center is responsible for overseeing all aspects of housekeeping services within the facility. This role involves organizing and assigning tasks, supervising staff, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and ensuring compliance with facility policies. The supervisor plays a key role in promoting teamwork and hospitality for residents while managing departmental operations efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and assign all housekeeping tasks among personnel based on facility layout.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating housekeeping staff.
  • Administer departmental disciplinary actions fairly and without bias.
  • Develop and supervise a daily cleaning schedule and maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Assist housekeeping staff in completing work assignments as needed.
  • Keep records of maintenance checks and cleaning reports as directed by the Administrator.
  • Schedule housekeeping employees according to census and labor budget.
  • Order housekeeping supplies within budget and maintain accurate inventory.
  • Fill in for housekeeping staff as needed during absences.
  • Monitor purchasing and usage of equipment and supplies to avoid waste.
  • Keep the Housekeeping Department functioning in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Inform the Administrator daily about housekeeping functions and recommend improvements.
  • Create procedures for safe operation of department equipment by trained personnel.
  • Attend and contribute to interdisciplinary resident care meetings.

Requirements

  • Practical knowledge of day-to-day cleaning in a nursing facility.
  • Organized and detail-oriented in work performance.
  • Good communication skills with self-discipline and patience.
  • Genuine caring for elderly and disabled individuals.
  • Compliance with Residents' Rights and Facility Policies.
