About the position

The Housekeeping/Custodial Supervisor at Boscov's Department Store is responsible for leading a team of housekeepers to maintain the cleanliness of the store, including restrooms, selling floors, office spaces, and common areas. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service and effective team management to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for customers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of housekeepers.
• Ensure cleanliness of the building, including restrooms, selling floor, office spaces, and common areas.
• Present a courteous and professional demeanor to customers and coworkers.
• Dust the selling floor (both high and low).
• Maintain carpets and tile floors using commercial grade equipment.
• Sweep, collect trash, and recycle material.
• Pick up trash from registers and offices.
• Dust mop and wet mop floors and vacuum rugs.
• Wipe down cafeteria tables and empty trash cans.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, restock supplies, and empty trash cans in restrooms.
• Ensure understanding and practice of all procedures, policies, exposure standards, safety, and shortage awareness.
• Coach, motivate, and develop housekeeping team to increase productivity and efficiency.
• Clearly communicate store and company objectives to management and staff.
• Monitor and address performance issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

• 3-4 years of housekeeping or janitorial experience.
• 1-2 years as lead, supervisor, or manager preferred.
• Resourceful self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
