About the position
The Housekeeping/Custodial Associate at Boscov's Department Store is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the store's facilities, including restrooms, selling floors, and common areas. This role requires a professional demeanor and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring a pleasant shopping environment for customers.
Responsibilities
- Ensure cleanliness of the building including restrooms, selling floor, office spaces, and other common areas.
- Present a courteous and professional demeanor to customers and coworkers.
- Dust the selling floor (both high and low).
- Maintain carpets and tile floors utilizing commercial grade equipment.
- Sweep, collect trash, and recycle material.
- Pick up trash from registers and offices.
- Dust mop and wet mop floors and vacuum rugs.
- Wipe down cafeteria tables, empty trash cans, and dry/wet mop floors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, restock supplies, and empty trash cans.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred.
- Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
