About the position

The Housekeeping Aide at Heather Health Care Center is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order within the facility, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role involves following established cleaning schedules, adhering to safety and infection control protocols, and collaborating with the Housekeeping Supervisor to improve service quality.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established departmental policies and procedures, including appropriate dress code.
  • Meet with Housekeeping Personnel regularly to identify and correct problem areas and improve services.
  • Complete daily cleaning schedules as assigned.
  • Maintain a warm and calm atmosphere throughout the department.
  • Participate in In-service Education Programs.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining an effective orientation program for new employees.
  • Recommend equipment and supply needs to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of cleaning materials on the housekeeping cart.
  • Label all chemicals with proper MSDS labels and replace when soiled or worn.
  • Use correct supplies in proper dilution ratios.
  • Keep all restricted areas locked and check all windows, furniture, and fixtures for proper operation.
  • Obey all safety rules and practice good infection control procedures.
  • Replace and replenish supplies as needed, such as toilet paper and trash bags.
  • Report all accidents/incidents to the supervisor.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the facility's Quality Assurance program for housekeeping.
  • Attend staff meetings as directed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English in an understandable manner.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, and personnel.
  • Ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  • Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
