HOUSEKEEPER

About the position

Principal duties involve cleaning and disinfecting all areas including: patient rooms, utility rooms, ancillary areas, public areas, restrooms and offices; trash and refuse removal and proper disposal of infectious and non-infections waste; daily floor care maintenance including: dust and wet mopping, buffing, striping and refinishing hard floors, vacuuming, shampooing and extracting carpet; wall washing; high and low dusting; furniture, blind and window cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, utility rooms, ancillary areas, public areas, restrooms, and offices.
• Trash and refuse removal and proper disposal of infectious and non-infections waste.
• Daily floor care maintenance including dust and wet mopping, buffing, striping and refinishing hard floors.
• Vacuuming, shampooing, and extracting carpet.
• Wall washing, high and low dusting, and cleaning furniture, blinds, and windows.

Requirements

• Must have the ability to read, write, take verbal instruction and perform basic arithmetic.
• Previous experience helpful; an inexperienced worker will need three to five days of instructions and at least 30 days on-the-job training under the direction of the Assistant Director.
