About the position
The Housekeeper/Laundry position at Riveridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in resident rooms, common areas, and other facility spaces. The role is essential for ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for residents and staff, with responsibilities that include cleaning, laundry, and light maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, and storage areas.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and disinfect various surfaces.
- Dust ceiling vents, lights, and other areas regularly.
- Dispose of trash and waste materials safely.
- Complete carpet cleaning as scheduled.
- Clean vacant rooms immediately after discharge.
- Assist in room transfers as needed.
- Attend facility in-services and training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with State & Federal regulations regarding safety and hygiene.
- Perform light maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and checking call lights.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Effective communication skills in written and oral form.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Capability to detect odors and see spots and spills.
- Ability to move housekeeping cart with cleaning equipment.
