About the position

The Housekeeper (Health Care) position at Kadima Rehabilitation & Nursing is focused on maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents by implementing effective housekeeping procedures. The role requires adherence to federal, state, and local regulations while ensuring the facility meets cleanliness standards and provides a welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintains resident rooms by cleaning restrooms, walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, mirrors, dusting, washing windows, and removing trash.
• Moves furniture to dry and wet mop floors, using wet floor signs to mark wet areas.
• Dusts and cleans all furniture and fixtures in resident rooms, isolation rooms, nursing stations, day rooms, and shower rooms using various cleaners and disinfectants.
• Performs terminal cleaning of resident rooms upon transfer, discharge, or death.
• Cleans clean and soiled utility rooms and shines chrome doorplates and handles at least weekly or as needed.
• Fills out maintenance request slips and submits them to the supervisor.
• Maintains facility appearance by dusting and cleaning furniture and fixtures, walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, stairwells, mirrors, and removing trash in common areas.
• Cleans and polishes the elevator as needed.
• Performs emergency housekeeping where accidents occur.
• Restocks and maintains a clear stockroom and housekeeping cart.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred.
• Previous long-term care experience is desirable.
