About the position
As a Bay Park Environmental Services Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff at ProMedica Bay Park Hospital. This position involves executing daily cleaning and disinfection tasks, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, and contributing to a positive patient experience. Responsibilities
- Responsible for daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms and common areas.
- Performs duties while demonstrating knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles.
- Adheres to organization safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines.
- Actively participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives.
- Maintains cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment in an orderly fashion.
- Removes trash and other waste and transports to the appropriate disposal area.
- Follows all infection prevention practices and recognizes patient privacy requirements.
Requirements

- Identifies and utilizes appropriate resources to resolve problems or concerns.
- Demonstrates knowledge of facility safety requirements.
- Ability to operate and maintain all EVS tools and equipment.

- Ability to move about the hospital and between workstations.
- Provides excellent customer service and responds to inquiries.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-haves
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) desired.
- Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) desired.
