About the position

The position coordinates and implements assigned recruitment programs targeted to high school students, business and industry personnel, military personnel, minority populations, and other identified market segments. The position coordinates various recruitment activities both on and off campus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement various recruitment programs targeted to high school students, including high school visitations, providing information to guidance and instructional personnel, proctoring college placement assessments in high schools, coordinating tours to the main campus, and establishing linkages between Brookdale and high schools.
  • Coordinate recruitment programs for non-traditional and adult populations, including visits to local libraries, program presentations to civic and religious organizations, open houses, and general information programs.
  • Establish linkages between Brookdale faculty and staff and potential minority students, conduct visits to community centers, develop campus programs to attract minorities, and create linkages with high schools and junior high schools.
  • Conduct recruitment activities for business and industry personnel, including visits to local businesses and industries and establishing linkages between Brookdale faculty and staff with business and industry personnel.
  • Provide admissions advice to prospective applicants and assist students in completing processes necessary for admissions and registration.
  • Arrange meetings for students with other Brookdale staff members and assist full-time staff members with recruitment events planned through the office.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping systems for prospects utilizing computerized inquiry systems and manual methods.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience in recruiting, community outreach, or student services.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-project, fast-paced environment and meet concurrent deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of policies, regulations, and guidelines related to the position functions.
  • Ability to work well with a diverse college student population.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and address problems through teamwork.
  • Proven computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications and specialized software programs.
  • Ability to learn applicable Federal and State regulations as well as College procedures, policies, and regulations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (evenings/weekends).
  • Ability to travel locally and to other sites.

Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $24.79/hr
