About The Position

The Adult Education - Childcare Provider is responsible for caring for participating children aged 3 months to 6 years, under the guidance of the Family Literacy Teacher. This role involves assisting the teacher in creating a prepared environment, preparing classroom activities and curriculum, maintaining a clean and inviting classroom, and stimulating the children's social, emotional, and academic growth through individual and group activities. The provider will also supervise the classroom, playground, and lunchtime, assist during snack time, and ensure the classroom remains clean. Additionally, they are expected to wear designated attire, communicate effectively, and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

Care for children from ages of 3 months through 6 years
Work under the guidance of the Family Literacy Teacher
Ability to wear District-designated attire in a presentable manner during assigned work hours.
Ability to effectively communicate and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Responsibilities

Assist the Teacher with providing the children with a prepared environment
Prepare classroom activities and curriculum according to the Teacher's direction
Keep the classroom clean and inviting
Assist with individual and/or group activities to stimulate growth of the children in social, emotional and academic areas
Supervise classroom as directed by the Lead Teacher
Assist in the supervision of the playground and lunchtime
Assist during snack time and in keeping the classroom clean
Wear District-designated attire in a presentable manner during assigned work hours.
Effectively communicate and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
