An Electrician installs new equipment, troubleshoots and repairs existing electrical equipment and systems.
Responsibilities
Install, assemble, dismantle, troubleshoot, maintain and repair all types of electric equipment such as A/C & D/C drives, motors and generators, control circuits, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, distribution panels and lighting circuits
Conduct insulation resistance measurements of electrical cables, motors to determine condition and effects repairs or replacement as required
Utilize precision electrical measurement tools such as multimeters, ammeters, insulation resistance testers etc.
Supervises and participates in the installation and/or alteration to electrical systems aboard dredges and other marine vessels with basic understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLC)
Perform other duties as assigned
Follows all company and work site safety policies/procedures and commits to an 'Incident and Injury Free' work environment
Requirements
3+ years of electrician experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid TWIC
Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
Experience reading electrical drawings and troubleshooting control circuits
Strong technical understanding of A/C and D/C generators and motors and motor controls
Experience in troubleshooting all types of electrical systems, including but not limited to generators from 3kw to 3000kw preferred, A/C and D/C drives
Knowledge of MS Office
Ability to work a 50-hour work week M-F, overtime as needed
Travel (by land, air, and water) to field locations is required (transportation paid)
