About the position
Houck Services, Inc., one of the area's leading Commercial and Industrial Specialty Contractors, is looking for experienced Epoxy Floor Installers to join the Commercial Industrial Department. Responsibilities
- Prepares various floor substrates to receive multiple floor finish types.
- Applies various floor finishes to prepped surface.
- Chips scrapes, and grinds high spots ridges, and rough projections using pneumatic chisels, hand chisels, and other hand tools.
- Cleans and preps area for application.
- Cleans construction site to eliminate possible hazards.
- Sprays materials such as water, steam, sand, sealants, solvents.
- Mixes ingredients to create compounds.
- Loads and unloads truck.
- Spreads, levels and finishes flooring material using a rake, hand or power screed, roller cover.
- Washes and treats surfaces using chemicals as specified.
- Smooths surfaces with sandpaper, scrapers, steel wool or other tools.
- Covers existing surfaces with drop cloths, paper or masking tape for protection of surfaces.
- Mixes cement, sand, lime and water to produce concrete, grout or slurry.
- Cuts concrete, drills holes in concrete.
- Builds molds to shape and form material.
- Mixes multiple part flooring material using hand or power mixers.
- Tends pumps, compressors, generators, kettles.
- Receives instructions from supervisor.
- Abides by all OSHA and Houck safety guidelines.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements
- Experience in epoxy floor installation.
- Reliable means of transportation.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing and physical.
