About The Position

Solicit and book potential group clients to achieve hotel room revenue and catering revenue goals. This role involves initiating new sales, prospecting, qualifying leads, and soliciting potential clients. The Sales Manager will maintain client accounts for repeat business, negotiate contracts, prepare proposals, and identify/price customer needs for events, upselling where possible, and closing sales. They will also develop sales plans and strategies to meet revenue goals, plan and conduct site inspections, and finalize/detail group meetings and catering events. Collaboration with operations departments is key to ensuring successful group meetings. Prospecting for new meetings business will utilize various methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, trade shows, community functions, blitzes, internet prospecting, and supplier partnerships. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Exhibit computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and familiarity with brand specific property Management System(s). Use knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet, iVvy and All Seats or similar systems.
  • Exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management, listening, and math skills.
  • Utilize closing skills to meet the room revenue goals.
  • Use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.
  • Maintain contact and event information and follow procedures for submitting sales contracts.
  • Read and interpret documents and to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of Hotel Sales.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to drive to appointments.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate new sales, prospects, qualified leads, and solicits potential clients.
  • Maintain client accounts for repeat business opportunities.
  • Follow up on leads by qualifying the customer's needs and dates for the event to determine if the business is a good fit for the property.
  • Negotiate contracts and prepare proposals. Identify and price customer needs for the event, up selling where possible, and closing the sale with the customer, collecting the customer deposit and signature on hotel contracts.
  • Develop sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals.
  • Plan and conduct site inspections.
  • Finalize and detail group meetings and catering events.
  • Collaborate with operations departments to ensure successful group meeting.
  • Prospect for new meetings business using a wide variety of methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, trade shows, attending community functions, blitzes, internet prospecting, supplier partnerships, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
