About the position
The Preventative Maintenance Technician at SpringHill Suites by Marriott is responsible for performing scheduled preventative maintenance and minor repairs in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces. This role ensures that all facilities are in optimal condition for guests, adhering to safety and security guidelines while responding promptly to maintenance emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and deep cleaning of guest rooms and public spaces.
- Inspect and flip mattresses and box springs, vacuum behind and underneath furniture, and spot clean carpets and upholstery.
- Conduct touch-up painting and furniture repairs, dusting, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Ensure all hardware and appliances in the rooms are present and in working order.
- Clean and replace light fixtures, and inspect grout and caulking.
- Perform miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats and changing light bulbs.
- Identify and report any serious maintenance problems or safety hazards to the manager/supervisor.
- Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and anticipate guests' needs.
- Adhere to all safety and security guidelines regarding equipment and chemical handling.
Requirements
- Previous building operations engineering experience preferred.
- HVAC training preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions.
- Ability to work any hours/days during the week and weekends.
