About the position

Clackamas Community College (CCC) at the Oregon City, Oregon campus seeks to hire for a part-time Horticulture Instructor faculty pool for available horticulture assignments during the academic year 2024-2025. Responsibilities

  • Instructs students in a classroom, land lab, or other settings as appropriate.
  • Prepares, distributes and utilizes instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate.
  • Structures classes and curriculum to correspond with the overall program objectives.
  • Understands, develops and provides a learning environment that supports diversity.
  • Responsible for classroom, laboratory and departmental equipment and provides for the security of facilities and instructional materials.
  • Understands and abides by college policies and regulations.
  • Convenes classes on time and as scheduled.
  • Maintains evaluation and grading records for assigned students.
  • Ensures and emphasizes safe working and classroom conditions and practices.
  • May direct aides and work study students as assigned.
  • Understands and uses the college's computer system.
  • May provide assistance to other department personnel as workload and staffing levels dictate.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Horticulture or related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture or related field.
  • Demonstrated evidence of successful classroom experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
