About the position

The Home Health Care Billing Manager at Better Home Care is responsible for overseeing and coordinating billing functions in compliance with state, federal, and local regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and critical thinking to manage billing processes effectively in a fast-paced environment. The position demands previous experience in billing within a home health agency, ensuring timely and accurate billing practices for Medicare and Medicaid services.

Responsibilities

• Recommend, implement, and direct the agency's billing policies and procedures
• Research and resolve client billing problems or issues
• Process and follow up on payer denials
• Initiate private pay collections after insurance cancellation, denial or other issue
• Submit reimbursement requests to Medicare and Medicaid
• Ensure that all documents are submitted timely according to Medicare and Better Home Care Standards
• Document payment records and issues as they occur
• Post payments in a timely manner
• Enter charges accurately and expeditiously to ensure proper records handling and fast payment responses
• Process insurance claims for private and employer insurance reimbursement

Requirements

• College Degree in related field required
• Knowledge of MCO and Home Care Payer Sources
• Strong knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid practices
• Excellent customer service skills and phone manner
• Experience with medical billing and coding in a home health environment
• ICD-10: 1 year (Required)
• Private and Employer Billing (Required)
• Medicare and Medicaid (Required)
• Home Health Billing Experience (Required)
