About the position

The Home Health Aide at Brookdale Cape May provides essential direct care to residents under the supervision of a professional nurse. Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to residents under the supervision of a professional nurse.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and transferring.
• Encourages residents to perform as much of their own care as possible.
• Documents the delivery of quality care in the resident's clinical record.
• Follows infection control and safety policies and guidelines.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for the residents.
• Responds promptly to resident requests for assistance, including emergency pull cords.
• Communicates changes in resident status or needs to the nurse in a timely manner.
• Participates in educational programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Completion of a 75-hour home health aide curriculum certificate required.
• Current state certifications may be required.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a health care setting preferred.
