About the position

The Home Building Survey CAD Technician is responsible for planning and preparing CAD drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, maintaining survey records, and collaborating with field crews and project managers. This entry-level position focuses on producing high-quality lot survey packages while ensuring compliance with project specifications and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently plan and prepare CAD drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
• Maintain and organize both digital and paper survey records for easy retrieval and reference.
• Communicate and collaborate daily with field crews, project managers, and co-workers to ensure smooth workflow and project coordination.
• Perform research and gather data through the GeoPoint database and county websites to support surveying and mapping activities.
• Ensure that daily and weekly schedules and productivity objectives set by the supervisor for surveys and drawings are achieved.
• Produce quality lot survey packages that meet or exceed industry standards.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a CAD technician role, preferably in the surveying or construction industry.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing technical drawings.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain detailed records.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform research and gather data effectively.
• Familiarity with GeoPoint database and county websites is a plus.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.
