About the position

The High School Teacher position at T. F. North High School is a full-time role aimed at helping students maximize their educational opportunities. The teacher will be responsible for creating a conducive learning environment, planning and delivering lessons, and assessing student progress. This position is grant-funded and is expected to start in January 2025, continuing until May 2025.

Responsibilities

• Remains current regarding ideas and methods which can improve instruction.
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Adheres to the published policies and procedures of the District.
• Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
• Works cooperatively with other school personnel in the identification, diagnosis, and remediation of individual students with specialized needs.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as allowed by contract.
• Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
• Performs any other related duties as requested by building administration.

Requirements

• Must hold a current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) endorsed in English, Math, Science or Learning Behavior Specialist I or II endorsement required.
• PEL/ELS endorsed in Bilingual Education preferred.
