Responsibilities

  • Teach AP (advanced placement) US History, 11th grade US History, 10th grade World History, and an elective history course.
  • Teach with expertise and excellence, fostering intellectual rigor and critical thinking skills in students.
  • Practice effective pedagogy that engages and inspires students to explore the richness of literature and language.
  • Demonstrate learning with relevant applications, connecting literary concepts to real-world contexts and experiences.
  • Build lasting and healthy relationships with students, modeling a balanced life of faith, wisdom, and service.
  • Embrace diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the classroom and beyond, promoting a culture of respect and understanding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in History or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching credential or certification preferred.
  • Experience teaching History at the high school level, preferably using inquiry-based and discussion-oriented teaching methods.
  • Strong knowledge of historical content, research methods, and instructional strategies.
  • Thoughtful approach to how Christian faith engages with personal vocation and/or intellectual life.
