About the position

The High School Assistant Baseball Coach will support the head coach in managing the baseball program for the Spring 2025 season at Harrisburg High School. This role involves coaching student-athletes, ensuring adherence to OSAA rules and standards, and fostering a positive team environment. The position requires physical fitness and the ability to engage actively with students during practices and games.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices and games.
• Provide instruction and guidance to student-athletes on baseball skills and strategies.
• Ensure compliance with OSAA rules and standards during practices and competitions.
• Maintain a positive and supportive team environment.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification and First Aid training.
• Knowledge of OSAA rules and standards for baseball coaching.
• Experience in coaching baseball preferred.
• NFHS Certified or ASEP Certification.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior coaching experience in baseball or related sports.
• Annual Concussion Management Certificate.
• Steroid Education Certificate.
• Semi-Annual Heat and Climate Acclimatization Certificate/Training.
