About the position

The Research Statistician for the Hawaii Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (HI-CLPPP) is responsible for managing, collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to support childhood lead poisoning prevention activities. This role involves maintaining the lead surveillance registry, preparing reports for the CDC, and consulting with healthcare professionals to prevent and treat lead exposure in children. The position serves as a subject matter expert in lead-related surveillance and statistical analysis, playing a crucial role in community health initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage and collect data to support childhood lead poisoning prevention activities.
• Maintain the lead surveillance registry.
• Analyze and prepare reports of lead surveillance data for the CDC.
• Identify and track children with lead poisoning using electronic surveillance software.
• Consult with healthcare professionals to prevent lead exposure and treat affected patients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with at least three semester credit hours in statistics.
• Two and a half years of professional experience with knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server and statistical software.
• Experience in data management and surveillance.
