This is a part-time position responsible for working on Household hazardous waste collection events or events similar in nature. The role requires maintaining a professional image while adhering to all VESTS Health and Safety policies and procedures. The technician will unload materials from vehicles, trucks, and pick-ups, and must be able to recognize potentially dangerous situations relating to chemical handling. A key aspect of the role is consistently following all compliance, health, and safety procedures in accordance with departmental and regional policies. The technician will foster a proper company image to customers through regular, professional interaction and must be able to follow directions and work as part of a team in a changing job environment, always working in a safe manner. Responsibilities also include the segregation of chemicals into packaging categories or DOT hazard classes and the ability to differentiate and consolidate similar materials while wearing respiratory protection. Candidates must be okay with being clean-shaven and traveling to different locations.
