About the position
The Heavy Truck Operator operates vehicles that require a Class B CDL and have hydraulic lifting capabilities, including dump trucks and garbage trucks. This position involves performing preventive maintenance on assigned vehicles. The normal work schedule is Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The role requires the ability to meet regular attendance requirements and work overtime, sometimes on short notice. Long days may be required, and the operator must be on their feet, standing, walking, lifting, and carrying. The job requires working in all weather conditions, including hot, cold, and rain, depending on the season. The operator must accomplish essential functions in a timely manner, with or without reasonable accommodations, and adhere to all safety rules and regulations as directed by management. Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy trucks and vehicles requiring a Class B CDL.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of large vehicle/heavy duty truck or trailer operation experience.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Must be at least 19 years of age at the time of hire.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that follows university policies.
- Must pass a post-offer drug screen.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation.
