About the position
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining various types of heavy machinery, including bulldozers, excavators, offroad haul trucks, and skid steers. This role focuses on construction, excavation, and site preparation while ensuring safety and efficiency on the job site.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment including bulldozers, excavators, offroad haul trucks, and skid steers.
- Prepare construction site by digging trenches, leveling ground, and moving materials.
- Load and unload materials such as soil, sand, gravel, and debris using machinery.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections to ensure equipment is in safe working condition and report any issues.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction and/or environmental remediation field.
- OSHA 10 or higher construction training preferred.
- HAZWOPER 40 certification preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Experience operating hydraulic attachments.
