About the position
Vector Fleet Management, LLC is seeking a Class A Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in the New St. James Parrish, LA area. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs) on various powered equipment, conducting repairs, and assisting in maintaining a clean and safe work environment. If you have at least two years of proven experience or have graduated from a Trade School for Mechanics, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs) on all types of powered equipment.
- Conduct selected repairs on equipment involving the summary of components and systems.
- Test drive all types of vehicles.
- Train and assist other mechanics.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including cleaning shop equipment, floors, and fluid containment areas.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 10 years hands-on experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- Experience with Volvo, CAT, or Komatsu is a plus.
- Complete set of hand tools and wheeled tool box suitable for daily use.
- Acceptable driving record and ability to pass drug test and background check.
- OEM training and/or ASE certifications are preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- CDL 'A or B' license is a real plus.
