About the position

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Duty Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts, particularly experienced with moving large loads of steel, and other heavy equipment to efficiently move, load, and unload materials within our warehouse environment. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with warehouse staff.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently to move materials around the warehouse.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
• Follow all safety guidelines and protocols while operating machinery, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist in training new staff on safe equipment operation and warehouse procedures as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse setting.
• Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation.
• Familiarity with order picking processes and the use of RF scanners.
• Experience with crane operation is a plus.
• Ability to operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant certifications are advantageous.
