About the position

The Hearing Care Coordinator (HCC) at Sonova plays a crucial role in ensuring patients receive quality care and service. This position involves working closely with clinical staff to support patients and referring physicians, managing appointment scheduling, verifying insurance details, and providing first-level support to patients. The HCC is integral to the clinic's operations, contributing to a positive patient experience and assisting with various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients with a positive and professional attitude
  • Place outbound calls to current and former patients for scheduling follow-up hearing tests and consultations
  • Collect patient intake forms and maintain patient files/notes
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments
  • Complete benefit checks and authorization for each patient's insurance
  • Provide first level support to patients, answer questions, check patients in/out, and collect and process payments
  • Process repairs under the direct supervision of a licensed Hearing Care Professional
  • Prepare bank deposits and submit daily reports to finance
  • Manage inventory, order/monitor stock, and submit supply orders as needed
  • Assist with event planning and logistics for at least 1 community outreach event per month

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years in a health care environment is preferred
  • Previous customer service experience is required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills with patients, physicians, and clinical staff

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree, preferred
  • Prior experience/knowledge with hearing aids is a plus
  • EMR/EHR experience a plus
