About the position

The Healthcare Emergency Management Coordinator (HEMC) is responsible for leading the local Emergency Management Committee and serving as the subject matter expert in Emergency Management. This role involves implementing program standards and ensuring compliance with the Service Partnership Agreement (SPA). The HEMC will develop and maintain a comprehensive emergency management program that prioritizes safety for patients, visitors, and Mission Partners through an all-hazards approach.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the local Emergency Management Committee.
  • Implement Ministry program standards and deliver on the Service Partnership Agreement (SPA).
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive local emergency management program.
  • Facilitate a safe environment for patients, visitors, and Mission Partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management or related field (Public Health, Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, etc.) or two years of related work experience.
  • Project management and performance management experience.
  • Experience requiring critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, relationship building, and public speaking skills.
  • Completion of FEMA IS 100, 200, 700, and 800 within 90 days of hire.
  • Certified Healthcare Emergency Coordinator (CHEC) Certification within 2 years of hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software and solid computer skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented.
  • Strong leadership and organizational management skills.
  • Strong writing skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Four years of experience in Emergency Management.
  • Two years of leadership experience.
