About the position

The Healthcare Coordinator (HC) at PDS Health plays a crucial role in partnering with dentists to secure financial commitments from patients for their treatment plans. This entry-level position focuses on educating patients about their treatment options, addressing objections, and ensuring a productive schedule for dentists. The HC is expected to embody the company's values and contribute to a positive patient experience while maintaining compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices based on the We Believe Behavioral Framework.
  • Gain a financial commitment from the patient to start the dentistry that the Dentist is diagnosing for their patient.
  • Achieve proficiency in PDS system and tools to assist patients in making the best possible decision for their unique wants and needs.
  • Execute the HC Handoff in partnership with each clinician on every exam patient.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on all available financial options to give patients choices that fit their budget.
  • Professionally overcome common patient objections to starting treatment.
  • Obtain necessary insurance pre-authorizations for patients prior to completing treatment.
  • Ensure the office exemplifies the Comprehensive Care Model and manages referrals outside the office.
  • Actively participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings.
  • Demonstrate stewardship of the PDS Brand and make decisions consistent with the PDS Brand framework.
  • Become knowledgeable on the Mouth Body Connection and support clinical excellence through comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies; address others professionally and respectfully.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Computer skills.
  • Financial acumen.
  • Communication skills.

  • Prior course work or on-the-job training in the fields of dentistry, insurance, or business.
  • Knowledge of office practices, technology applications, and patient insurances.
