About the position

RIDGEVIEW, a not-for-profit community mental health center based in Oak Ridge, TN, has an immediate opening for a full-time Healthcare Billing Specialist. The schedule will be weekdays, 8am-4:30pm. The right candidate will join a close knit billing team following timely, accurate, HIPAA-compliant billing practices that complement the accounting side of the financial services department. The billing team is an integral part of 'One Ridgeview', with all staff working toward a common mission. Responsibilities

  • Medical billing and related activities in a behavioral healthcare environment.
  • Working directly with clients and/or third-party payors to ensure that medical billing is accurate, compliant with the payors guidelines, thorough, and timely.
  • Performs collections efforts to ensure accounts receivable balances are managed in accordance with target balances.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Enjoys working with clients and third-party payors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Skills in data entry, claims submission and follow-up.
  • Two+ years prior medical/hospital claims and billing experience required.
  • Experience in billing mental healthcare claims preferred.
  • Excellent organization and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Mathematical aptitude.
  • Sense of discipline; ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Completes work with a sense of urgency and high degree of accuracy.
  • Exercises discretion and good judgment in communicating account information to third parties.
  • Able to work regularly scheduled weekday business hours.
