About The Position

Valerie Health is seeking a strategic, hands-on Head of Talent Acquisition to build and scale the talent function. This role involves partnering directly with founders and the leadership team to shape the company through hiring, organizational design, talent strategy, and recruiting operations. The position requires personally leading searches for critical leadership, technical, and strategic hires, while also establishing the necessary systems, processes, and team for company-wide recruiting scalability. This role blends high-touch executive and strategic recruiting with operational leadership and talent strategy, aiming to define how Valerie attracts talent, elevates the hiring bar, develops managers, and scales its culture during a period of hypergrowth.

Requirements

  • 4-8+ years of recruiting and talent experience across high-growth startups, talent-dense technology companies, and/or top-tier search firms.
  • Experience hiring senior technical and business leaders.
  • Experience building or scaling recruiting functions from an early stage.
  • Ability to operate comfortably at both strategic and execution levels.
  • Ability to shape hiring strategy while building scalable processes, strong funnel visibility, and operational rigor across recruiting.
  • Strong calibration and high standards for identifying potential.
  • Exceptional communication skills to represent Valerie credibly with senior candidates, align internal leadership teams, and articulate compelling opportunities.
  • Ability to move quickly, operate with intensity, and take end-to-end ownership.
  • Proactively identify gaps, solve problems, and drive outcomes without waiting for direction.

Responsibilities

  • Personally own and close critical leadership, technical, and strategic hires across the company.
  • Operate as a high-judgment talent partner to founders and hiring managers, assisting in defining role scopes, calibrating talent bars, and driving hiring decisions.
  • Partner with leadership on organizational design, leveling, compensation benchmarking, hiring plans, and workforce strategy.
  • Oversee and scale the recruiting function, including recruiting operations, external recruiting partners, and high-volume hiring for delivery and operations teams.
  • Coach recruiters and hiring managers to enhance hiring quality, calibration, and consistency.
  • Shape Valerie’s talent brand and position the company as a destination for ambitious operators, engineers, and leaders.
  • Drive outbound sourcing, referrals, and executive-level candidate engagement.
  • Build scalable recruiting infrastructure, including ATS workflows, interview design, funnel analytics, calibration processes, and reporting systems.
  • Define the candidate interview experience to reflect a high-talent-density, mission-driven, high-performance culture.
