About the position
The Head Middle School Girls Basketball Coach at Clay Battelle Middle School is responsible for leading and managing the girls basketball program for the middle school. This position is an extra-curricular role that requires a valid West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) coaching authorization. The effective date for this position is November 3, 2025, and it is part of the 2025-2026 school year.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the middle school girls basketball team.
- Develop practice plans and game strategies.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration.
- Promote sportsmanship and teamwork among players.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid WVDE coaching authorization.
- Experience in coaching basketball at the middle school level is preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience as a head coach or assistant coach.
- Strong knowledge of basketball rules and strategies.
Benefits
- Salary of $3,125.00 per year plus experience increments.
