About the position

The Nuclear Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of nuclear projects at the Palisades Nuclear Plant. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards, requiring strong leadership and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee the implementation of project plans, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with nuclear safety standards and regulations.
  • Work closely with safety and quality assurance teams to enforce safety protocols.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
  • Facilitate collaboration across departments and resolve conflicts to maintain project momentum.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including clients, regulators, and vendors.
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports, presentations, and updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify potential risks to project success and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking costs and controlling expenditures.
  • Drive innovation and process improvements to enhance project efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in project control center/outage control center, nuclear project management/leadership, preferably in the nuclear industry.
  • Familiarity with nuclear regulatory requirements and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies efficiently.
  • Must be able to gain unescorted badge access to nuclear power plant facility.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, CAPM).
  • Experience in a control center or high-pressure operational environment.
  • Understanding of nuclear power plant operations and systems.
