About the position
The Automotive Service Advisor plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer service and efficient operations within the automotive service department. This position involves managing customer interactions, coordinating service processes, and leading the service team to deliver high-quality automotive care.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and professionally, addressing their concerns and service requests.
- Schedule and coordinate service appointments, managing the service team's workload effectively.
- Ensure timely completion of customer vehicles, meeting promised delivery times.
- Collaborate with technicians to identify and address additional service needs.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of automotive systems, repairs, and maintenance procedures.
- Provide expert advice on necessary repairs and maintenance based on vehicle diagnostics.
- Lead and motivate the service team to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and issue resolution.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of service records and manage service-related paperwork.
- Identify opportunities for upselling additional services or products.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Service Advisor in the automotive industry.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Previous leadership experience in a service department is preferred.
- Proficiency in using automotive service software and computer applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice-to-haves
- ASE certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Additional education or training in automotive technology is desirable.
