About the position

The Studio Hair Design is seeking a dedicated Hairstylist/Colorist to join their team at the Westchester Flagship Salon in Armonk, NY. This role is ideal for a senior stylist with an established clientele who is passionate about the hair industry and eager to learn the salon's branded techniques. The position offers a commission-based pay structure with a 60/40 split and no deductions, allowing for significant earning potential based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide complete salon services, including hair cutting, blow-drying, and coloring.
• Maintain cleanliness of the salon and your station.
• Stay updated on current hair cutting and styling trends.
• Help maintain adequate inventory of hair products and tools.
• Ensure clients with scheduled appointments are attended to.
• Recommend products for clients to maintain the integrity of their hair.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.

Requirements

• Must have a current and valid NY state cosmetology license.
• 5+ years of experience cutting, coloring, and styling hair in a salon.
• Must have an established clientele for 40/60 split with no deductions (negotiable).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Friendly and professional demeanor.
• Able and willing to work a flexible schedule when necessary, including Saturdays.
• Strong passion for hair and desire to learn.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with trendy hair transformations and special occasion up-dos.
• Ability to expand clientele from the salon.
