About the position

Inrock Drilling Systems are currently looking to add more guidance engineers to our U.S. based service team to keep up with the demands of our growing industry! You are part of a growing team that provides customers with exceptional service at locations throughout North America, and occasionally the world. You’re responsible for performing a land survey, creating a bore plan, providing sound advice and direction to clients directly on their job sites, and guiding them safely past any obstacles and within specified tolerances. You provide expertise and guidance to our customers on site to ensure successful drilling.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a land survey and create a bore plan.
  • Provide sound advice and direction to clients on job sites.
  • Track the location of the drill head below ground and provide instructions to the driller.
  • Review and understand client provided drawings for the layout of the HDD crossing.
  • Layout grid wire in appropriate dimensions and shape based on the geometry of the crossing.
  • Survey in the grid wire along with topography and any utilities the drill will be crossing.
  • Utilize CAD based software to generate a drawing that coincides with the client provided drawing.
  • Work with the driller to drill the designed path staying in given tolerances.
  • Submit final paperwork to the office and the client upon completion of the drill.
  • Work with the drill crew to extract the tooling, clean and pack it up and send it back to Inrock’s shop.

Requirements

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • College degree.
  • Completion of coursework in algebra and trigonometry at high school or college level.
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
