About The Position

Big Sur Campground & Cabins is seeking a flexible and adaptable Guest Services Agent to join their team. This role is responsible for a variety of duties including processing guest check-ins and check-outs, managing bookings and payments, coordinating with housekeeping, and providing local information to guests. Additionally, the role involves attending the Camp Store, which includes stocking, sales, customer service, and managing inner tube rentals. The ideal candidate will maintain complete knowledge of campground operations, handle telephone and email inquiries, resolve guest complaints, and manage financial transactions with accuracy and security.

  • Flexible schedule - willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be available to work for at least 6 months.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in additional languages a plus.
  • 1 to 2 years of previous experience in a similar position would be an asset but not required, we will train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Processing all guest check-ins, check-outs, site/cabin assignments, and early check-in / late check-out requests.
  • Creating and managing guest bookings, securing deposit and final payment.
  • Ensuring rates are accurate and verifying/adjusting billing for guests.
  • Coordinating with Housekeeping to track room status and guest concerns.
  • Providing local information and assistance to all guests and visitors.
  • Attending the Camp Store, including stocking & displaying products, receiving and disbursing money to customers, and maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Answering customer questions and maintaining the cleanliness of the store.
  • Managing inner tube rentals and ensuring all inner tubes are returned by the end of the day.
  • Maintaining complete knowledge of campground operations.
  • Answering telephone calls with proper telephone etiquette.
  • Describing accommodations and all amenities.
  • Obtaining all designated information to book a reservation.
  • Responding to all guest email inquiries and sharing with the appropriate Manager as necessary.
  • Accommodating special requests.
  • Exercising personal discipline and extra diligence to assure that projects are completed on a timely basis.
  • Resolving guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Obtaining assigned bank and ensuring the accuracy of contracted monies.
  • Keeping the bank secure at all times.
  • Presenting folios to guests and resolving any disputed charges.
  • Performing additional duties, as assigned.
