Growth Lead

Taste Tech IncSan Francisco, CA
$150,000 - $220,000

About The Position

Taste is building the AI for creative work. Today’s AI is great at logic and code, but when it comes to anything visual, brand, or aesthetic, it produces slop. Generic fonts, cluttered layouts, off-brand colors, soulless compositions. The models don’t understand taste. We’re changing that. We’re building the creativity layer for AI: the models, evaluators, and data pipelines that teach AI what “great” actually looks like, so that every company building with AI can ship work that feels crafted, on-brand, and beautiful. We recently closed a $16M seed round co-led by Amplify and CRV. We’re working with customers like Anthropic, Flint, and leading AI labs, powering the design intelligence behind their products. The team today is small, senior, and hungry. We care deeply about quality, move fast, and love the problem. If you think AI-generated work feels soulless right now, and you want to be part of the team fixing that, we’d love to meet you.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience owning a funnel and understanding cohort analysis.
  • Experience building systems that other people use.
  • Ability to demonstrate a funnel rebuilt that continued converting after you stopped touching it.
  • Ego focused on the mission, producing interfaces, documented handoffs, and trustworthy data.

  • Demonstrated 'taste' in something, indicating the ability to engage with people who have taste.
  • Experience in product growth or lifecycle leads at marketplaces or networks where supply was the product.
  • Experience as Revops or growth ops people who owned a funnel end-to-end and built their own reporting.
  • Experience in marketplace supply ops where activation mattered more than acquisition.
  • Experience as growth generalists at fast companies who built workflows others adopted.
  • Experience as operators at Scale, Mercor, or Surge who prioritized quality over volume and aim to build a compounding network.
  • Experience as early-stage founders (especially marketplace, network, or community-driven) whose company didn't work out.

Nice To Haves

  • Produces polished work slowly.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the talent funnel from application to active project, with approximately 1,500 experts in flight at any time.
  • Owning the systems, metrics, and process improvements to increase expert activation and retention.
  • Performing supply chain operations for a curated expert network, focusing on the expert community as a compounding asset.
  • Developing and managing the supply graph and activation workflow as products.
  • Overseeing onboarding, calibration, and bridging between projects.
  • Executing and building infrastructure, as most of it does not exist yet.
  • Owning the weekly funnel dashboard (apps → portfolio yes → tested → passed → contracted → staffed).
  • Collapsing the nine-plus-step onboarding into fewer steps and eliminating single-person bottlenecks.
  • Making Airtable the source of truth for all stages, syncing or retiring side spreadsheets and Notions.
  • Building and running the activation model for vetted experts who haven't yet been on a project.
  • Running reactivation campaigns, including sending sequences, tracking replies and bookings, routing conversations, and reporting on conversions.

Benefits

  • A vendor budget to buy tools instead of building them where appropriate.
  • Access to a network of working designers.
  • Opportunity for growth as the seat grows.
