About the position
The Group Leader at Pace® Life Sciences is responsible for managing the technical section of the laboratory, overseeing a team of approximately four to ten technical staff members. This role involves planning, coordinating, and directing operations to meet client timelines and ensure the delivery of high-quality analytical reports and protocols. The Group Leader acts as the main interface between Pace and its clients, ensuring compliance with quality systems and driving productivity within the team.
Responsibilities
- Supervises staff including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and providing compensation recommendations.
- Ensures that all employees have the necessary training, tools, and materials to perform their job responsibilities safely and effectively.
- Oversees operations including testing, scheduling, inventories, and general coordination of lab services.
- Acts as the main interface between Pace and the client, providing status updates and receiving customer feedback.
- Ensures the accuracy of tests and operational databases through audits and operational reviews.
- Participates in writing, reviewing, and approving SOPs and other necessary protocols or reports.
- Analyzes and reviews operations and results to determine trends and present findings to management.
- Assures compliance with regulatory requirements and works closely with Quality Assurance to enforce quality procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field.
- Five years of laboratory experience, including experience with complex programs or operations.
- Two years of team leadership experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and technical writing skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in clinical trials.
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Technical writing experience.
