About the position
The Driver/Case Aide works in the afterschool program to provide transportation for clients. This role involves transporting clients to and from the afterschool program, community activities, and their homes. Additionally, the Driver/Case Aide assists with the supervision of clients during programming. The position requires the incorporation of Sanctuary tools and practices into everyday interactions to create a trauma-informed environment, upholding the principles of Sanctuary to provide a therapeutic framework and culture. The Driver/Case Aide is expected to actively participate in all required team meetings, trainings, and supervisory sessions, communicating openly with their supervisor about needs, concerns, and ideas, and utilizing feedback given in supervisory sessions.
Responsibilities
- Provides transportation for clients to and from the afterschool program, group activities, and other transportation needs.
- Provides transportation updates to staff about clients' behaviors and interactions during transports.
- Supervises clients during the afterschool program or community events, as applicable.
- Incorporates Sanctuary tools and practices into everyday interactions to create a trauma-informed environment.
- Actively participates in all required team meetings, trainings, and supervisory sessions.
- Communicates openly with supervisor about needs, concerns, and ideas; utilizes feedback given in supervisory sessions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum age requirement is 21 years old
- A minimum of two years of experience in driving
- Ability to drive an 8-12 passenger vehicle
- Strong interpersonal relationship and communication skills
- Valid PA driver's license with excellent driving record
- Clearances Required: PA Act 33 (Child Abuse) / Act 34 (Criminal History) / Federal Criminal History Record (FBI Fingerprint)
