About the position

The Grounds Technician at Weidner Apartment Homes is responsible for maintaining the daily upkeep and appearance of the community, ensuring a welcoming environment for residents and guests. This role requires effective time management, attention to detail, and strong customer service skills when interacting with residents, associates, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily grounds maintenance including trash disposal and pet waste removal.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of trash rooms and ensure operability of trash chutes.
• Clean pools, monitor chemical balance, and maintain logs as required.
• Conduct inspections and routine repairs of the irrigation system.
• Assist Maintenance and Housekeeping teams in preparing vacant apartment homes.
• Accompany vendors to units as needed.
• Clean windows, breezeways, amenities, model homes, and offices; perform building repairs and replace light bulbs.
• Water plants manually as needed.
• Distribute resident correspondence while maintaining confidentiality.
• Monitor supplies and maintain equipment.
• Ensure maintenance shop is clean and organized.
• Communicate effectively with management and team members.
• Promote safety and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Inspect and respond to safety issues and emergencies immediately.

Requirements

• Entry-level position with a focus on grounds maintenance.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and climb ladders.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of Yardi and Paycom software preferred but willing to learn new software.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
